Why is anyone overly concerned about Shohei’s velocity dips? Didn’t they say the blister is only impacting his fastball grip? Would make sense as to why some FBs are slower than others...he’s still consistently hitting 96-97...

There's gotta be some level of rust. He has barely pitched the last 2 years after all. That said, command issues certainly been something that's been an issue for him regardlelss(he had nearly a 4 BB/9 in 2018). Obviously it's been really bad since returning from TJS. Just gotta hope with more starts and continued health that things improve

This could be all that it is but wouldn’t they keep him off the mound if he has a blister. That needs to heal before he pitches in purposeful games and makes it worse. 

How about we wait until after a full season on the mound and then look at his 2018 and 2021 results from the hill to determine if he should continue being a two-way player.
