Btw I know nothing about this guy. Does he project as a starter or reliever? Too early to tell?

normally it's hard to get a bead on those HS guys from the later rounds that actually sign.   My guess is that they grab a few and then kinda throw out the idea that if there's some extra money from the pool then they'll give it all to the first one who takes it.

They're all hard to project as 18 yo dudes coming out of HS that typically weren't good enough to go in the first 5 rounds.  Crow getting a bonus of what amounts to a 5th round pick should tell us that the halos though a fair amount of him.

Other guys to sort of half pay attention to in that mid to late round HS signing range are Edwin Sanchez (2019, 13th round out of puerto rico. doing well in ACL in just a few innings).

from 2018 - Van Scoyoc (11th round - 6'6" with bad results so far but probably super duper raw with tons of walks), Daniel Nunan (12 round - almost exactly the same as Van Scoyoc but LHed.), Chase Chaney (16th round.  Signed as a SS but has been on the mound for the ACL.  Again, probably very very raw).

Dominguez just had the ugliest at-bat of the Futures Game so far flailing at three straight pitches off the plate.

He's there on hype and nothing else and it's honestly annoying.   I can't think of anyone to play in the game having done less than Dominguez.   The blathering about how he compares to Trout, Mantle, Bo Jackson...   FFS, let him play a little first.

Like Brien Taylor before him, the Yankee hype machine has really elevated his status.... Brien Taylor was ranked the number one prospect in MLB by BBA before he had ever thrown a professional inning.
