So in other words it's not gonna happen?

it's happening!!!

it's delayed for unknown reasons

it's delayed because of a medical report

it'll probably still happen

it might not happen

It'll probably still happen

it will probably happen but with a different person than expected

the 'agent' of the person it's supposed to happen with weighs in

one of the people involved is named Joc.

If any of the players the Angels send to the Dodgers (still a hypothetical trade) develop and progress above expectations you'll have to feel good for them. Player development is a Dodger strength. If they can turn lesser prospects into decent major leaguers it will illustrate how important that phase of the sport is.

Nothing wrong with seeing trades that work for both teams. Of course it's easy to be magnanimous if your team also prospers in the deal.

But trades that work for each team are often interpreted differently according to team needs. The Angels need immediate major league improvement. The Dodgers can think longer term and take more risks. If the trade goes through as it stands the Angels should benefit first, but the Dodgers can be patient.

Good perspective.  Pederson and Stripling make us considerably better this year and will vault us from a possible WC contender to a WC favorite.  Likewise, if Rengifo and Ward go on and become more productive than we anticipated, I'd be happy for them too.

I do think this trade will happen.  Boston has way too much on the line, financially speaking, to back out of the deal.  Backing out now would cost them many, many millions of dollars on the whole (Betts + 1/2 Price, plus luxury tax savings).

We're all hoping it will be Rengifo + Ward and/or another throw-in, but I'm guessing we're going to be disappointed. We're not getting Stripling + Pederson + Pages without giving up something good. If its Rengifo + Ward + Suarez, we've made it through well. Assuming it won't be Adell/Marsh, I'm worried we're going to be saying goodbye to one of Rodriguez, Soriano, Adams, or Knowles.
