went to the angels-dodgers game Tuesday night. ran into Gubi and Victor in the parking lot. shook hands with Gubi. they both seemed in a very. serious hurry to get out of there, which makes sense on many levels. I'm guessing they didn't want to get shivved more than anything.

Hopefully you didn't curse him like Scott cursed Pujols.

A few random encounters:

Talked with Rose McGowan at a bar, sitting with her Chiahuahua.  She was filming Scream at the time. This was way before she turned butch.

Met LL Cool J after sneaking in backstage at a concert. Nice guy.

Was a waiter for Mike Farrell (M*A*S*H). He was celebrating his Mom's birthday.

Served Julia Morgan during a banquet in her honor.

Met Cypress Hill at LAX while standing in line to buy a magazine.

Met Ryan Seacrest at a resort gym in Santa Barbara. He's a short dude.

Saw Pamela Anderson (in the height of her Baywatch/Playboy epicness) at a grocery store in Malibu. My wife and I passed her and her son, as he was reaching for a box of cereal, asking, "Mommy can I have this one?". My wife, who didn't know that was Pam, said to the boy, "ooh that's a good one". I didn't even realize there was a boy there.

Saw Gary Busy at a Malibu gas station. He was filling up his Mercedes, which was a little older than what I assumed he could have. I gave him a nod and a smile, he smiled back. He peeled out of the station. 10 minutes later, as I'm driving north on PCH, he comes racing at me from behind, then around me, and then cuts me off, doing 80 or so. Just driving like a lunatic.

Met Cameron Diaz at a 30 Seconds to Mars concert (opened for Incubus). She was was seeing Jared Leto at the time.

Said hello to Gabby Reece a couple years ago while in Kauai. My daughter plays volleyball so I thought it would be cool to have them meet.

Surfed with Bethany Hamilton (lost her arm by a shark while surfing). Incredibly, she paddles faster than me.

Said hello to Sammy Haggar as we were waiting outside a casino in Lake Tahoe. He plays there regularly.

Among others, I've partied with Woody Harrelson, Michael J Fox (BP), Nicolas Cage (over several days at Mardi Gras. We were on the same flight. Dude never changed his clothes)

Met Wilt Chamberlain at a Gelson's. Met Tom Cruise, Kristie Allen (bitch) at a party.

Coolest chick ever - Natalie Merchant of 10,O00 Maniacs. Pretended not to know who she was. Sat down next to her and proceeded to ask her what she did for a living. She hesitantly said she was s singer. I said:" yeah, ok, but what do you do for work?"

Yep, once an Ahole . . .

A few years back, when Dusty Baker was managing the Giants, talked with him and his family at a Scooby Doo Live concert in Phoenix.  This was during Spring Training time.

Met Tim Salmon up here in Prescott AZ...he was coaching his sons travel ball team (Also had Tom Candiotti's kids on the team).  Salmon played ball with the guy I used to coach little league with.  When Salmon was up here, he called me up.

Not an encounter I had...but Jose Canseco is now playing means slow pitch softball.  He was up in Prescott VAlley a few weekends ago playing in a 50+ tourney.  A friend of mine plays and umps...said Jose could still mash the ball....but couldnt run to save his life.

I don’t know who anybody is outside of the occasional athlete.  So most of these will be work place meetings.

Garret Anderson driving a Porsche with golf clubs in the passenger seat, Mark Langston came into work late one night after his playing days before his announcing days, we chatted it up for a few minutes and he did his Rex Hudler impersonation, saw him again in Wrigley Field before the game. Kevin Green and I used to be on first name basis back when he was on the Rams in Anaheim and the team practiced close by.  Met Rick Smith as well as Ervin Santana (probably the most feminine handshake of anyone ever, man or woman).  Tommy Lasorda walked by my cousin at her wedding when she was about to walk into place before walking down the aisle.  Mark McGuire I met and have seen a few times at different INOs.  He was pissed we weren’t open at 9am one time when I was walking around the outside of the restaurant.  Jim Abbot.  I bowled with Tim Salmon this past year for a work charity tournament.  Ryan Leaf was there as well as other “celebrities” that were famous, but not to me.  I met the Gene Simmons back stage this past October when Kiss played us a private concert for INOs 70th anniversary.  Mike Tyson at the airport shook his hand, it was a very weird exchange.  Roy Jones Jr at a casino in Vegas, he was very cool.  I was in Geometry class with Gwen Stefani.  I don’t remember her, she doesn’t remember me.  Her brothers were at my nephews funeral.  I am sure there are a ton more over the years.  Next year, I have a feeling I will meet a few more celebrities through work, As there will be some transitioning going on at work.

I signed NDA’s for the stories we want to talk about.

I feel like I have forgotten more celebs than ones I’ve met. Mostly athletes from connects/right place right time type of situations or a bunch of musicians that I’ve met at shows or ones my band opened for back in the day. Or just being involved in music.

Same with skateboarding. Through one of my bands I met pro skater Billy Marks and used to skate with him back in the day in Corona then as adults he was making money as a pro and my mortgage company was doing well. He always wanted me to come over because I was the only dude with money that could gamble with him. Met a bunch of people through him.

Seeing Mike Ness from Social Distortion at Aces High Tattoo in Fullerton while I was getting work done. He bought the owners dope Cadillac.

I think the last celeb I met was Teemu Selanne at the Dubliner in Tustin one night. There with his chick and friends. Cool dude.

Back in 1982 I was invited by my father in law to join him over at the Gower Stdios to watch the process of taping an episode of Days of Our Lives. It was a very ealy call time and as usual the start of the day was simply warming up the cameras and getting the lighting setup along with waiting for the actors and actresses to filter in, do their makeup and run through dress rehersal.

In the time in between that and a hot set I was walking through the halls, making my way from set to the booth my father in law was working in and came across one of the actresses, Brenda Bennet, I thought playing out her lines of some sad scene. I must have caught her by surprise because he acted startled then apologized. I said not to worry, I've never really seen someone working on their character by themselves. She was very nice, had a beautiful smile and we talked for a very short while then I excused myself, saying I had to get back to the booth and let her do her thing.

When her scene came up it was nothing like what I thought she was rehersing. It was a pleasant conversation in a soap opera way and I never thought much about it, maybe she had another scene tomorrow that required more drama. A few days later, on April 7th (my wife's birthday) Brenda ended her own life out of grief over a lost son. She played out that last scene alone.

was at a dodgers game when I was in jr. high. a whole bunch of us were in the mens' room, and this was back in the days when they had those wonderful troughs instead of urinals. guy in front of me in line hollers out "Hey, Mr. Mayor!" It was LA mayor Sam Yorty standing at the trough taking a leak.

another encounter around the same time. there was a fantastic show called "Sports Challenge" hosted by Dick Enberg. My mom would take us up to the channel 5 lot to attend tapings. Great show. During a break between shows I headed for the men's room. Walking out was Leroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch, who had been part of the old LA Rams team that had just finished competing. He was friendly and told me the story of why he was called crazy legs.

I did security for the Vans pool party a few times. Met Tony Hawk. Sat around BSing with Mike McGill and Steve Cabalerro. Cabalerro was cool as hell.

Another one of the original "dogtown" guys too, but cant remember his name. Did a lot of prison time, holy parole now. We exchanged numbers but cant remember who the hell he was to save my life. Really interesting story.
