He is not going to get it back, he really can’t.  In order for him to be effective he would have to play a lot, and if by chance there is anything left in the tank, maybe it will click.  My guess is whatever he had left when we signed him is long gone after the shoulder injury.  He was bad last year, but not this bad.  So now the team has to decide, leave him here and use him as they have this past week.  Or release him and bring up someone with more upside, but they will be sitting more than they have ever sat before.

Cozart hadn’t started since last Sunday. I’d say Ausmus has done well not playing him much.

His last start was last Sunday, and he hadn’t had an at bat since then.  He is basically a one day a week crappy player.  Maybe it is time to look at one of those guys always seems to be available.  A veteran shitty utility infielder, someone that is less shitty than Cozart.

Same here. I never expected "good", but figured he could hold his own with the bat, give us great defense at the same time.

But hes a liability. I dont see any upside above the alternatives we have.

He can’t last much longer.  Ward is smashing AAA.

Honestly, huh?  How bout literally?

He does not. That is impossible in baseball.   He sucks, but the Angels didn't lose today because of Cozart.  They lost because they scored one run.  The offense, other than Trout, sucked.

He had one good year in his contract year, signed a decent contract and reverted back to what he was before then got injured and aged.

I would completely agree, except he hasn’t been playing 3rd base, he has been playing LF and 1st.

Fletcher and La Stella should be everyday guys at 2B/3B anyway. Ward can be an emergency 3B if someone gets injured in the middle of the game.

the bottom line is this team is better off with Ward getting those at bats. 

Same reason it was idiotic to keep Valbuena(rip) over Cron

You need a guy who can play second, third or SS for a few days.   They aren’t confident that can be Ward.
