Since they're not going to give up on Bour that quickly, even if he sucks in ST, and there's zero chance Pujols loses his spot, Thaiss will only make the team out of camp if Bour/Pujols is injured on Opening Day, and even then I'm not positive. Still, he puts himself in a good spot if Albert and Bour blow for a significant portion of the season.

Although if Thaiss continues to thrive this Spring it could put Pressure on the front office with Pujols if he isn't performing. If Pujols sees it too that Thaiss tears AAA up then there will be some tough decisions heading into the end of 2019....

Let's be real: Pujols isn't good. He's hit over .250 one season in the last four. His last two seasons couldn't even break a .290 OBP. He stopped being an average hitter in 2017 and his defense has no positive value. His K and BB percentages are career worsts for two years. He can no longer hit 30 home runs in a full season and its to be questioned if he'd even hit 100 RBI's if he wasn't hitting closely behind the guy who is #1 in baseball at getting on base.

The only reason he's still playing is because he's owed a lot of money and he's a respected player for his career who thinks he can still perform. If we were a serious contender, they would have already pushed him out, but since they're not, why interrupt Albert's baseball fantasy? 

At this point, it wouldn't take much to find a better player than Pujols. Bour is. Thaiss almost certainly is. Almost anyone on the 40 man roster probably is at this point, although that might be a slight stretch.

Cozart, yes. I have higher hopes for Kole, although he's pretty much the new Napoli and will be streaky. Bour will be the new member of the pantheon.
