I am rarely critical of Scioscia, but this one is all on him. He deserves the blame for this. Shitty managing.

No argument.  His moves backfired and cost us.  In another thread I said all losses have contributing factors and can't blame one person for a loss.  However when they post yo the "goat/hero thread"  I am voting Sciosvia as the goat.

dude no one on this has ever called for any RP to go for a 6 out save...now you're exaggerating

Yes, plenty of times we have seen people call for this exact thing.  Maybe not you, but plenty of times we read, “why is he taking out this guy when he had such a smooth inning”

This team's record is not indicative of it's talent.  the bullpen and SP are mediocre at best and pitching wins ballgames, period.  88 wins would be the best we could hope for.

Truth. We need two bullpen arms and at the very least a #2 pitcher that can actually go more then 5-6 innings.

We're also now tied for second in the majors in blown saves. And I think the M's game only counts for one, not the actual three.

It is becoming clear that we’ll need another good late inning arm.  Sooner then later.  Eppler seems to like striking early.  Maybe he’ll surprise us and make something happen quick here.

How much baseball have you watched? I have seen a lot of games where a pitcher goes for a 6 out save.  Hell on this board I have read post arguing for a relief pitcher to a second inning.

Hopefully he is on the phone with Dayton Moore

Never understood the need to assign blame for stuff. If you lose 4 out of every 10 games, you win 97 on the season. Good stuff happens, bad stuff happens. They had a chance to win it in the end and just missed - if you can say that after every game, you're going to have a good year.

Because that is how message boards work.  If you post something positive you will get one or two likes, if you post something critical you will get a ton of likes.  Basically people like to be bitches.

this team is going nowhere with this bullpen.

the game is on MS for horrible decision making, but he was somewhat forced into trying a 6 out save because the pen is so bad.

He looked like he was in full desperation mode from the start of the 9th inning.

Bad games where you’re losing most of the game is one thing. Doing good for 8 innings and blowing a 2 run lead to lose in the 9th is a stinger still and should be won.

Relievers seem to go pretty cheap at the trade deadline/on waivers, like Nicasio last year. There are definitely solid middle relievers out there that won't cost us more than a prospect in the 20-30 range so no excuse not to fix the problem.
