Yes, you do, because there is no one else to option.  They won't need a 6th starter again for a bit (off not this Monday, but the Monday thereafter).  Hence, he can get recalled the next time they need a 6th starter.

Anderson and Middleton are the only ones left to option once we option Morris back when Nitro returns. Every one else is a DFA when Wood returns.

Scioscia is trying to destroy this kid, if the bullpen sucks that bad that Scioscia doesn't want any of those guys in then its Eppler's job to get someone

I can think of a couple relievers that could use a DL stint.  Plus I have always advocated using 6 starters with each one available one day between starts for a relief appearance.

Throwing this guy back out at almost 20 pitches, Scioscia is so desperate, not fair to the kid at all and not putting him in the best chance to succeed

Alvarez has been pitching a lot, he is conceivably unavailable tonight.  Middleton pitched last night and just got off the DL, he is also presumably unavailable tonight.

I think that is why Anderson is pitching a second inning.  He is unlikely to pitch tomorrow as a result.

In all fairness many had Scioscia pulled anderson and the new pitcher gave up a HR everyone would be mad at Scioscia for pulling him.  Hindsight makes everyone a genius.

Our starting pitchers never being able to go more then 6 innings is a problem, too.

The trade deadline can't come fast enough. We need a #2 pitcher and a high leverage bullpen piece.
