I love this lineup. If they could just keep it the same and swap Pujols and Valbuena depending on pitcher I think that's the optimal lineup for the season.

Pujols is only out of the cleanup spot because he's not starting.

I get that. I was saying I wish he would be moved down now in favor of this lineup. He would be much better off batting after simmons in the 6 hole.

I agree, I love this lineup.  Yes, Calhoun is struggling, but that aside, this is an optimal lineup construction for us.  We have some L/R balance 4-9 and have a legitimate power-hitting cleanup hitter.

Seriously, when Ohtani pitches in AL parks, why not have him in the lineup as well just as if before the DH rule came into existence?  Is it because Scioscia doesn't want to give up the DH in the lineup?

It is that. It is also to let Ohtani focus solely on pitching on that day.

Oh yes.  Once you lose the DH you can't get it back.  What happens when Ohtani is removed from pitcher? Do we have Blake Parker hit now?

I really don't see much of a correlation in hitting vs spot in the lineup for these two players. You may see Kinsler back in the lead off spot at some point.
