Yes, there is a certain resemblance between Chandler and Reynolds.

Spud Chandler is one of those players that people tend to forget, but he was a very good pitcher, even dominating, for several years, a four-time All-Star, and pitched in four World Series. In 1943, he was the American League MVP with a 20-4 record and an ERA of 1.64. He got a late start, not appearing in the majors until he was 29 years old. He also missed two years during WW2.

Weird in that there are buildings and houses right up to it. 

Since it looks like it's opening day, and the tress are still bare and it looks cold.. it must be in the north.

I'm thinking Wes Ferrell.  (pitcher who had a .280 lifetime BA, and had a career OPS+ of 100!)

 He had a brother, Rick, who was a HOF catcher.

Buffalo had a stadium where the Bills played in the AFL way before current stadium.  Perhaps this is a minor league stadium.

Is the anthem at the stadium scene from The Natural?

Looks like the first game in the upper left corner of scoreboard has Knights as the home team.

Update: Answered my own question.   That is a scene from The Natural.   I know the stadium answer, but had to look it up.

Buffalo War Memorial Stadium

It was used by the Bills and the minor league Bisons before sitting empty for many years.

As AO noted, it was used as the home stadium in The Natural. The scoreboard was created for the movie. http://www.forgottenbuffalo.com/forgottenbuffalotours/thenaturaltour.html
