This thread should be stickied forever. It's a perfect exemplification of the trade process and how fans react to them.

We will ALWAYS underestimate how much a player we want is worth in a trade. Oftentimes significantly. 

So this trade unfolds and we all lose our minds because we overvalue what we have and undervalue what we want. We want to trade pieces we essentially don't want on the roster. Why would another team give up anything of value for pieces the other team doesn't like or want (Tony Reagins, aside)?

If we get anything of value in a trade, we're going to give up players we don't want to trade, because those are the guys other teams will want.

This trade is up there in terms of hilarious reaction. Anyone that thought Vernon Wells was a good idea.... That should be kept. Buying Max Stassi low, for two non-impactful prospects is a good one too.

I reacted badly to the trade and I own it.  I hated to give up a young pitcher because we had done such a bad job of developing pitching....hopefully we are in a better place for that now.....I also hate that Simmons didn't get to the playoffs while with the Angels....the trade was good but we still didn't have a good enough team to take advantage of a terrific talent in Simmons and make the playoffs....

I am not going to search through this thread for my posts but I am pretty sure I was in favor of the trade and probably made some sarcastic comment to posters that thought Newcomb was the 2nd coming of Cy Young.
