Angels exploring Irvine for new stadium.

well the example of how difficult it is to do anything re a new ballpark may be Oakland's plight.

they should have been in a new ballpark years ago and they're stuck.

the situation there re the ballpark has been weighing down that franchise for years --- all their efforts to re-locate (complicated by SF Giants opposition just as a move to downtown LA would be opposed by the LA Dodgers who would oppose it within MLB ranks as well as using its political clout to set up roadblocks to any Angels/ downtown LA deal)......so this whole situation is going nowhere soon.

Hardly. My wife is Asian. I was referring to the demographics of the city which is roughy as much Asian as any other ethnicity. I think Asians and white are each about 30%ish.

Besides. Everyone knows I like Adam here.

That's like saying "I have a black friend" who gives?

Irvine is just japanese people? Irvine is a mix of different Asian groups. Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, Japanese. Your joke doesn't make sense.

That's so true. I am a Filipino and I have relatives who live there.

There are more Taiwanese and South Koreans than Japanese there I think.

Holy shit man, people are trying to make so much out of this.  He referenced the largest, most prominent Asian Baseball league as a nod to the large Asian population in the area.   Let it go already.

I'm all for a new stadium but none of these destinations seem realistic as this point. Anaheim has a great thing going with the Angels and the stadium is located in a very convenient spot.

I'd like to see some massive upgrades and add on to the surrounding area. If they can find a new spot that's within 10 miles of Angels Stadium, that works as well.

The new stadium near the current is probably the ultimate answer, as Anaheim is centrally located.

I would love for the stadium to be built on the Orangewood/State College corner but that is private land so there would be some hurdles to cross. Whatever happens I would stake my money on a new stadium being built in the parking lot with new retail/commercial/residential developments surrounding it.

Except most of us fail to understand that the Japanese are not the most popular people to the Chinese and Koreans to begin with.
