I think the Angels would like an eight year extension and Trout's agent would want no more than 6. I think the Angel offer will be 8/220 and Trout's agent will counter with 6/180. A deal should fall somewhere in between.

Thought for sure it would have already been announced. We haven't heard a peep about it for weeks. I'm still confident that they'll get one done....but I want the announcement already. Longer it goes on the more I start to wonder

Does Miguel Cabrera's 10 year-$30 million extension effect Trout's negotiations with the Angels? Most people agree that Trout is better player than Cabrera so shouldn't Trout's extension be worth more?

10 years at 30 million? I think Trouts extension will be bigger :-)

Fear of greater inflation in free agency after the 2014 and 2015 seasons leading to a higher AAV. That plus maybe Trout doesn't sign an extension after his 1st arb contract is delivered and signed next January.

I do put a little credence into what he says when he says the upper management is up on the third floor, but that's about it. He has no knowledge of what they are talking about. The only insight he would have with something like this is if that isn't a normal occurrence and the last time he saw it something big happened.
