Ibanez used to kill us when he played for Seattle the first two times. It seemed like one game-winning hit after another.

A lot older is an understatement. The man is 41 years old. Hey, but he is in great shape and works out all the time. We never heard that one before with another 40+ year old outfielder. That one worked out so well!

He's only one of the most clutch hitters in MLB over the past decade.

If true and given the earlier reports that the Angels are waiting to sign Ibanez so they can sign a starting pitcher...does that mean a starting pitcher signing is close as well?

Ibanez deal leaves #Angels about $15M under the CBT. Definitely still in play for Garza or Tanaka. Willing to go over by a little if necc.

The fact they're willing to go a little over says they are willing to offer Tanaka close to $20MM a year. I guess it's going to come down to years and the Angels have been unwilling to go more than 5 on pitchers.

Don't mind this deal at all.  Wondering if the Angels are really targeting Garza and are waiting for Tanaka to be posted to use him as a negotiating tool with Garza.
