I don’t disagree. But the lack of a long term stadium plan is a huge issue for anybody looking to acquire the club. And who knows what happens with the FBI investigation into the city of Anaheim.

That's what I mean. It might not be that Moreno is having second thoughts.  It might be the potential buyers aren't willing to pony up what he is looking for, or even what the outside sources were projecting the team is worth.  Compared to other teams on the market, there are way too many question marks with this team.

The Angels had five potential bidders, with preliminary offers expected in mid-February, according to sources familiar with the negotiations who were not authorized to speak publicly. The team was expected to sell for well north of $2.5 billion, possibly even more than $3 billion.

But then, in the past few days, Moreno unexpectedly changed his mind. The Angels announced Monday that Moreno, 76, will no longer explore a sale of the team, after stating definitively in August that he was looking to sell. He pledged Monday to remain the owner for 2023 and beyond, despite the fact his children do not appear interested in inheriting the operations of the franchise.

Moreno, who has not answered questions from reporters in three years, declined further comment. As a result, his decision comes without explanation or context. A slew of potential high-profile buyers, including at least one from Asia and two who are current NBA owners, are left to wonder what just happened, sources said.

Why are you saying a narrative that has zero meat on the bones and everything is saying the contrary? Sure, we may not be getting the full story but not one person had any stories or even thoughts that the asking price wouldn't be met.

There is a difference between asking price.  And what Moreno would actually get.

If a car is worth $15,000.  But has $12,000 of loans on it.  You are asking $15,000, but only getting $3,000.

With all the crap the Angels are going through, the selling price of the Angels may be between $2.2 billion to $3 billion.  But no way would the buyer pay for long term liabilities, which would decrease the amount Arte would get.

They just say they were potentials so it's really saying nothing. While I dont despise Moreno, I would have liked to have seen any of those take over.

Again. They didn't even get there in the process from every report but we are continuing to explain? You are reaching for an explanation. It is just as likely that his heart was never in to selling the team.

What are these liabilities you speak of? Arte is an awesome owner. Stop with all these lies! Facts have no business in this thread!!!

If you spent more than a minute on Twitter following Angels fans you’d come to the conclusion that Arte is the cheapest owner in MLB and he’s the devil himself.

He’s not the devil, he’s the evil empire.  Maybe both.

Arte ain’t the problem. The problem is all these modern day stat nerds. We won a championship playing old fashioned baseball and listening to fat boys gut. Yes we fell short a few times but we were respectable. We started playing nerd ball and have sucked ever since. We need to get back to signing a team full of tobacco chewing  boys that ain’t afraid to get dirty.

There is some truth to this.  We have sucked since playing nerd ball.  However, that doesn't mean there is causal relationship
