LaRussa charged with DUI

Angels 1961

now that is a story. i think this is his 2nd dui, if memory serves. that's going to play really well in the chicago media, like piranha to dead meat.

there's an angle to this that already exists, which is that he's behind the times. dui's like this can very easily and reasonably be argued as an affirmation of that line of thinking.

What an incredible leader. Doesn’t he have a couple of these things already? I get that he’s 100 years old and doesn’t care anymore. But dude has plenty of money to get a driver or pay for an Uber Black or whatever. Guys an utter tool! Glad he’s no longer an Angel and I bet he’s not long for the White Sox either.

just for the sake of accuracy in the thread. he was arrested in february, but was not charged until october due to a paperwork snaffu. also, the white sox knew about it ahead of the hiring, or so it seems.

The White Sox can know about it. But it means nothing till the media and their fans know about it. Luckily baseball is in its dead zone period and no one cares about the White Sox.

that means the Angels knew about it first.

One would think he would have agreed to some plea bargain between the arrest and the filing of charges.

Glad to see that kind of decision-making influence has been flushed out of the Angels front office.

What does that say about the Angels, that they had a DUI executive on a team where a player got killed by a DUI a few years ago?
