The article literally states every team will be in on Wheeler because they think he will be affordable. Change the headline to MLB interested in Wheeler.

If we signed Wheeler early (unlikely he signs real soon), I’d be conflicted. If Cole doesn’t work out, he’d be a solid backup choice. Ideally, it would be amazing if we signed both, but I dunno if Arte spends that much. The other issue is the QO compensation involved for both.

At this point, I'm backing away from Cole and I'm hoping the Angels choose smarter and sign all three of Wheeler, Odorizzi and Teheran.

Our best bet here is that Callaway and Wheeler have a great rapport and the Angels get out to a quick lead as a result.

Tbh getting Cole and Wheeler probably would cost the same as those 3, especially with backloaded contracts.

But I would not at all be opposed to your scenario.

That is kinda my thought as well.  Similar money, but three pitchers instead of two.  All three of those pitchers are on the right side of 30 to, so the Angels can count on them to be around for a while and it can give the Angels some trade options with the young pitchers they currently have (if they want to).

Always take the best player possible if you can.  If it’s Cole vs Wheeler ordorizzi and Teheran then give me cole and ill figure out the other players we need.  It’s always a mistake to pass on the best player.  Always.
