I think you guys that are celebrating this are sort of missing a bigger picture issue.  This reeks of internal chaos. We’ll see what Eppler has to say this afternoon.

That internal chaos might be that Arte is just tired of waiting for the Angels to be part of the postseason. He probably wants them to be competitive and then sell the team high.

If it's for Maddon then I get it.

But why let Scioscia go for Ausmus whom we groomed for a year if we're ejecting so quick?

This sounds like Arte pushing for Hamilton all over again.

Yeah, this is how I feel too. I hope it is for Maddon, otherwise, I don't understand.

Either way, Arte must be pissed off, which in the past has not been a good thing. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes.

This reeks of a poor decision on Eppler’s part to hire Ausmus.  Nothing in his stint with the Tigers pointed to him being a good manager.  My guess is that Ausmus showed to Eppler in 2018 that he could fully embrace metrics and manage by the “big book of stats”.

One thing Sosh was really good at was building a clubhouse chemistry that always fought through bad times.  I don’t know that I saw any of that with the 2019 club, even with all the injuries.

If I’m Eppler I might start worrying about my job as well....

Or they knew that Maddon could possibly be available after this year? Ausmus will be nothing more than a footnote in Angels' history.

There's plenty of dysfunction but this was a necessary thing to clear the deck and start afresh. A lot more work to be done of course.

Coming into the season if a lot of things fell the Angels way this team was maybe a .500 ball club.  The two SP's they signed were absolute shit while they lost another SP unexpectedly.  Starting fresh has more to do with personnel than it does the manager.
