I know Albert gets a lot of grief here but you have to give him credit, he wants to be out there and play. You know he is out there playing when other players his age would sit or go on the IL. I think he has also been invaluable mentoring  trout especially when trout was younger. I wonder if Trout in his conversations with Albert asked if he could do it all over again would he have stayed a Cardinal for as long as he could....and if that played a role in trout staying an Angel for life. Same thing with him talking to Jeter.

All I know is Albert is producing better than Bour.  He's still capable of driving in runs.  He's walking more.  He's going the other way more.  He's not complaining about his role (which has changed some). 

There are bigger issues to worry about...

I've been pleasantly surprised by Pujols so far this year. True, my expectations were minimal but I'm happy with him thus far.

95 percent of the time a guy’s defensive position has no impact on his offense. Stats that suggest otherwise are just small sample flukes.

I think it's because he's basically 'healthy' right now. He's generally played better when in the field than at DH throughout his Angel career, but in more recent years he's been better when DHing and my guess it that it all comes down to fatigue and injury.
