I really do not care how he spends his BP time just get on base and help the team win. What he has been doing has clearly not worked. Since that has failed what is the harm in trying a different approach. Hit the ball the other way, bunting, etc. Quit trying to pull everything. 

 

he has been on a downturn for 3-4 years. He is now all of a sudden trying to work on some things and take extra BP...... what about for the last few years? he has been trying to pull everything since I first saw him come up in the big leagues.

Before we decide that Calhoun should be up there bunting, maybe we should get him to an optometrist.

Maybe a hypnotist too.

Without a solution to his (more and more obvious by the day) mental funk, the bunting is liable to be as awful as everything else has been.

2016 - .271 .348 OBP .786 OPS 116 OPS+ 3.1 WAR...and 3-4 years (2014 - 2017) is his entire career as a starter.  Might want to pull up baseball reference every now and then...

Instead of bunting, Kole should just hit home runs in every AB. That way, he guarantees at least one run per AB, and the shift becomes irrelevant.

I'd have to agree. He's come a long way since the Steve Finley days.

Some quicker hooks in the pitching department too. I think he wants a contract extension, so he's pulling out all the managerial stops this year.
