Apparently this guy "scouted" Fenway Park as a potential target.

Not that I condone mass murder in any form. It's barbaric.

He didnt need tracers. Tracers are nice when you are shooting in full or close to full darkness. The crowd he was shooting into was illuminated by stadium lights for the concert. He absolutely had enough light to see basicalou only where his rounds were hitting.

People keep making it more advanced than it is (like flying planes into 100 story buildings). Technical skill and training would have been aiming at and hitting specific people in the crowd, snd missing the rest. Emptying mags into a crowd is easy as pie. One eyeball and a trigger finger is all you need (plus a rifle).

If anything, had he actually been trained (or its a conspiracy like the nutters want to think), he would have fired in short bursts...only an amatuer would hold down the trigger like he did. You wear out the barrel, run out of ammo, and with rhe muzzle raise lose accuracy. Someone trained would have been shooting 3-5 second bursts, then re-aiming.and bracketting the crowd....shoot left, shoot right, shoot left, shoot right. This guy sounds like he was just strafing until he ran out of ammo.

I disagree with you on the use of tracers.  When you look at all the videos, it's dark out.  Really, at any concert, the only light is on the stage.  This is also not like a typical concert venue, where you have flood lights all over, like in an arena.  Even after the event is over, it stays pretty dark.  So I'd disagree that tracers would have made a difference.

Agree with everything else.  As that video of the hot chick using a bump stock showed.  It's wildly inaccurate.  What was she, 50-100 yards from the target?  And she was spraying all over.  You saw puffs of dirt from before the target on her spray pattern.  And that really shouldn't happen at that range with an AR.  At 600 yards?  Maybe he didn't need to bracket the crowd.  With how much his shots were spraying, all he had to do was aim for the stage, and with factoring distance the shots were probably going short of the stage all over the place.  Might be why people thought there were multiple shooters, because his spray range might have been 100 yards or more.

Actually you can get permits for those and machine guns but it isn't easy. I was in the Civil Air Patrol at the time and we had some National Guard contacts that arranged some interesting hardware to... Learn military tactics with. 

I learned that the general public shouldn't have their hands on these which includes the AR series than can be easily modified for full auto. But hey, 2nd amendment, right?

Yeah, absolutely with his spray range. Especially on full auto, with just full trigger squeeze, hes going to throwing rounds all over. (Which again, a trained shooter would know 3-5 second burst on full auto. "Die motherfucker, die. (Pause, re-aim). Die motherfucker, die."

But again, with rhe tracers, way too much light out that it would make a difference, or matter. Only effect would be giving away his position sooner. As far as it being dark, then the only device to aid him would be flares, or NODs.but with the event lighting, street lights, etc, he had more than enough light to see what (mostly) hes shooting.

It would be like turning out the lights at angel stadium, and shooting at the bullpen from the knotrhole club...but instead of the bullpen, youre aiming for all of left field, and the people in it. Not one row, or section. Tracers would help you see if youre hitting a particular section, but wont matter if youre shooting at an area that large.

It would be like putting a laser designator on a cluster bomb, or csrpet bombing. Accuracy isnt the goal, area effect is.

And they knew where he was almost immediately because of the fire alarm.  It still took the PD an hour to enter his room.  I doubt visible tracers from a general area of the exterior of the hotel would make any difference.

Shooting blindly?  He was shooting at a lit up target at night.  Even a cheap red dot scope would do.  You're not talkign about precision marksmanship here, it was a crowd of 20k.  When's the last time you shot a gun?  You seem to have more opinions than knowledge.

Besides, all those measures of intelligence are one dimensional.  I work with people from top schools that have no common sense and couldn't change a tire to save their lives.

Another thing for the conspiracy idiots. Pretty sure, as a cop, the vegas metro guys were just as much in the line of fire as the crowd. A few of their guys got hit, one of their off duty guys got killed.

They were the ones who ran up and ended it. Not so called men in black.

If any idiot thinks theyre gonna roll with some "conspiracy", after their own people were shot and killed in this thing, should have already been eaten by the rest of us, according to charles darwin.

How did he get guns in his room? Probably the elevator. Thats how ive always gotten to my vegas room, and i always bring my gun in from the car. No one has ever bothered to ask me if i have one, or whats in my bag.

How did he do this without training? Because it would take "training" to aim a rifle...kids can shoot the same rifles, and do shoot the same rifles.

How could he break the glass? With that hammer. You can find the same purposed hammers on busses and trains, for you guessed it, breaking out glass.

How could this guy have stockpiled all those weapons without anyone noticing? Rifles and shotguns arent registered when you purchase. You do that later. Or you dont.

my favorite (which is sad) is the random anti-gun crowd in the wake of tragedy. bad people are going to do bad things whether they are illegal or not, and by all accounts what this dude did was create illegal firearms. I didn't see a call to ban automobiles when that one dude mowed down a shitload of people in Spain.

you just see the random "is it time for gun control" or let's ban guns" without serious thought to logistics and that happening. heroin is still illegal and people od......the same shit will happen with guns. some dicknose will still shoot up a theater or school.
