You knew it was coming. I disagree though. Not sure how mandalay bay could have done anything to stop it. 

There is a local law firm advertising on Facebook saying that they "represent" the victims of the shooting. My guess is that they are trying to cash in by suing virtually everyone - Mandalay Bay, the concert organizers, whoever. None of them could have foreseen this or prevented it, and I have seen nothing to indicate that anyone's actions were anything but spot on once the incident started.

On Saturday, I drove past the concert site. It was eerie seeing the concert banners still up, and police tape everywhere.

“Many firearms experts determined the Las Vegas shooter’s use of a bump stock actually prevented more casualties and [injuries] due to its inconsistency, inaccuracy, and lack of control,” he said.

Funny, none of the local papers have reported anything from these "many firearms experts". You don't need much consistency, accuracy or control when you're firing into a closely-packed group containing a couple of thousand people. He also managed to hit a jet fuel tank at McCarran Airport. Airport officials found two bullet holes in the tank the following morning while inspecting the perimeter fence that several people breached when trying to escape the shooter. His intention was apparently to explode the tank to create even more casualties, but fortunately it didn't work like in the movies when a single bullet would have exploded not only the tank that he hit, but also the one next to it.

An off-duty air traffic controller who was at the concert is credited with possibly saving even more lives. Once she had reached safety, she called the control tower at McCarran Airport and she told them that there was an active shooter on the west side of the airport. A number of flights were diverted to other cities and the service that flies tourists in helicopters over the Strip suspended flights until the situation was resolved. Had she not made the call, he might have shot at departing or arriving commercial airliners.

are they just going with the guy snapping and just shooting up 500+ people out of nowhere ?

Seems odd that after going on a month, no true motive known.   Usually something has come out by now.

This guy was a loner and apparently he didn't socialize much. He even kept the windows in his house covered up to hide from his neighbors. Unless he left obvious clues behind, we may never know exactly what set this off.

Poor guy lost it after thousands of hours of video poker, and he had girlfriend problems. Could happen to anyone.

Just to be fair though.  If you work at nights, or in his case, gambled all night.  You would have your windows all covered up also.  Not to hide from neighbors, but to simulate darkness so that you can sleep more easily during the day.

Exactly.

Aside from terror attacks, because the bad guy is doing it with intent to deliver a message, its rare much is going to be discovered.

Terror attack, job place, or domestic, the motive is somewhat easy. Killing strangers and dead bad guy doesnt leave a lot to go on. Stranger homicides are hard as hell to solve for the very reason.

Well we haven't seen video from one of the hundreds of camera's inside Mandalay.  I find that very strange.  Heck, within days we saw camera footage of the Boston bombers walking through the crowds.

The street cameras were installed by the city of Boston and most of what you saw was race footage by the Networks. I'm sure the lawyers from Mandalay Bay are going to require court orders.

Yeah that's exactly the thought I had as soon as I typed my post.  But the general public deserves to see some evidence pre-shooting, of some things that happened leading up to this event.  Hopefully, we see some of these videos before too long.

Well, thats just it. "We" dont "deserve" anything. To be fair, its a crime, and the only people really privy to the evidence are those involved. The rest of us are just spectators.

Id like to see all of the evidence just as much as anyone else. But its out of curiosity, only.

Yeah I expected that response of "we don't deserve" the evidence.  But we do.  If it affects laws being passed, we do.  If it affects peace of mind when we attend events with big crowds, we do.  There is more official evidence that isn't being shared, because, well, I don't want to start a conversation into what I think it is.  But it's not just a lone shooter gone unhinged.

Its not about deserve or not deserve. Its a crime investigation. None of us are an involved party. If you were arrested or fired feom your job, do your neighbors deserve to know why? Its not like this is elected officials or a tax payer issue.

As far as your last sentance, why not? What bigger scheme was aurora? Or sandy hook? Or columbine? The mcdonalds in san diego? Virginia tech. Any serial killer. Etc etc. This guy very well likely had his own reasons for doing it... that doesnt mean he left a manifesto of why.

also, the motive is just that he's a crazy asshole. not sure why people are looking for some underlying reason for why he did what he did. the same with the sandy hook dude. they just realized info that the dude was planning the attack as far back as 2011. this Vegas dude seemed to have tactical info and shit like ballistics showing that he was prepared and aware of what he was pulling off.

@yk9001  That was an intense timeline.  Kind of heartbreaking after the first or second volley, they pan through the crowd, and there is someone frantically doing CPR on someone.

I rexeently spent an evening with my lady friend who was there. I tried to chsnge the subject a lot, but she wantes to talk about it. Sad as hell, shes a wreck (understandably).

One of the things she mentioned was not knowing where to run, because the speakers of the concert made the sound echo and sound like it was coming from all directions. In the video she made (she was filming the concert and just kept it going without thinking about it), some guy in the crowd is telling everyone its not real. 

Her friend's boyfriend ended up selling the video to the media. The uncut version she showed me os a lot worse....you see people getting hit.

Great breakdown, thanks for posting.

Still havent seen (in my opinion) the actual weapon used. Unless he swapped mags. But of the ones seen in that picture, none have the large drum mag that would be needed for that long (281 round) burst he let off.

First id heard about the single shots it started with. It does seem to make sense he was trying to target the fuel tanks. "Spotting" his rounds (the other theory they mentioned) i cant really see doing unless he was using tracer rounds, or a super top of the line optic.

Brother of Stephen Paddock busted for child porn. He has a long criminal record including threats, theft, and arson. He was arrested at an assisted living facility in North Hollywood.

A person there told Channel 4 News Bruce Paddock was bragging about his brother the mass murderer. He told people he was proud of him and "happy that he killed all those people".

What a family.

That's what happens sometimes, when you have a loser lifelong criminal for a dad who probably thought he was another Clyde Barrow.

Still doesn't excuse ANY of this, but could have contributed to it.
