As an organization we're terribly short on infield prospects - with Pineda, Garcia, and Rivas all having good seasons in the low minors, things are looking a little brighter.

9. Brian Specht

10. John Orton

What was the name (I believe he was a pitcher) of the player the Angels drafted a few years ago, whose grandfather was Bozo the Clown? Did he ever advance through the system, or was he traded away?

Regarding Nonie Williams - I think as the Angels completely overhaul his swing, it's understandable if it takes him a year to get accustomed to it.

Big leaguers become so untuned with their swings that they can frequently self-diagnose and even alter it to fit their circumstances. With a new swing, it basically doesn't belong to him. It isn't innate, he can't correct it, he can't alter it.

Where would you guys rank those two dudes from the Bahamas?

When it comes to ranking system nternational players that you've only seen video on and read a scouting report, I tend to go with a rather simple estimate. However much the bonus was, align it with the draft slot for the MLB draft. The MLBPA and owners have tried to align bonuses from international signings with that of a draft signing bonus as a way of skirting an international draft which would cost millions in terms of manpower.

It isn't a perfect comp because the international budget tends to be less than half of the draft budget. So someone like Deveaux, his 1.2 million bonus would fall in line with a late second round or early third round pick.

The end result is I rank Deveaux pretty closely with Pearson from this draft, which is generally around #10. There are some particulars to consider, like Deveaux being a year younger and with greater upside, and the Bahamas really becoming a burgeoning market for top international talent. Still it gives you a general area.

Knowles will likely be somewhere 20-25 in my own rankings as well. We'll see where he ends up with AW though. We take a few rankings and find a mean. Some of the guys here just don't care about upside as much as proximity. Nothing wrong with that. It's just personal preference. So Knowles might be skipped over altogether by others because he didn't grab headlines like Deveaux or Adell.

Bummer to see Jahmai end his season 0-9 but he more than held his own this year. I hope they give him a full year in the minors next year (IE to start and Mobile at the break if he is still producing) and then give him a look in Spring '19.

For me it's

1. Adell

2. Jones

3. Barria

4. Marsh

5. Rivas

I feel like people are sleeping on Rivas. .430 on base with a ~127 wRC+ as a 19 year old? If dude puts on some weight he could be dangerous. Even if he can't, slide him over to 2B and let him focus on his hitting.

Torii Torii!

What a great debut. I kinda hope they send him straight to Inland Empire to pair him with some more age appropriate competition while still keeping him in a good hitting-environment.

That said, if most of this year's Orem crop goes to Burlington, it may be a good offensive unit there as well.

Agreed! Great stats for a non-baseball player, eh?

I would like for them to skip the cold Iowa area in Burlington and send our top three stud OF's right to High-A ball.

Move Torii, Marsh and Adell together and to the 66ers. Jones up to Double-A.

That's exactly what I want to see also.
I'd be fine with Adell or Marsh starting in Burlington and getting someone like Ryan Vega straight to IE too.

Or Jonah Todd or Brandon Sandoval to IE.

Yeah... It's just that there's so many games in April and May that get postponed and when they do play it's as cold AF. The pitchers get the clear advantage in that league.

Why not get them in warm weather and keep them together since they've played so well as a trio together in Orem?
