Great start for JJ and Co. The thing I hoped for most was to feel invested into the new characters and I thought they did a great job at accomplishing that and leave us wanting more.

I'll say it again, Daisey Ridley is a beauty. I did not realize this was her first film ...ever!!! Wow what a performance and role for her first movie. And her accent just tickles my fancy.

I will say that the ending reminded me of the ending of Empire...that it left me wanting to see what happens next...immediately. It was obviously the beginning of the next chapter in the storyline.

 

But that's why they're called cliffhangers.

Wasn't sure how I felt about it coming out of the theater last night, I can almost say I disliked the movie. Now that I've had some time to digest what I saw I'm begining to like it a little more. The acting was good (for a SW film), the story was decent and there was plenty of action. Overall i feel it was a good addition to the saga. I will add this and maybe it was just me but, There was just something off about it, I can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it was the pacing or the cinematography, I don't know... I'm not really sure at this point. I'll definitely have to see it again.

The final scene was probably my favorite in the whole movie, really leaves me wanting more. Only 16 and half months until EP 8.

Apparently it got #2 because it hasn't been released in China get and Jurassic Worlds first weekend included almost $100 Million from Chinese showings. Had Star Wars been released in China it would have smashed JW for number one.

agree (i think were loners in this though). I liked it...had a lot of the original to it, but a little too much new (for me).

I feel like the legacy characters were just sort of thrown in to satisfy old school fans. Maybe thats just me though
