    Fuck it, bring him in. I dont care about any perceived "baggage". We all know they wont do a full rebuild so why not take advantage of a possible discount on a TOR starter? Seems like the accusations against him are totally false. I think its worth taking a chance on.

    I guess if he makes it clear he has no intentions to sign a new deal then get what you can get. I'm not so sure this situation is as clear cut as everyone seems to believe. Maybe he likes it here and believes they can build a winner. The same shit was said about Trout before he signed his extension. Ohtani did choose to sign here over any other team, maybe that means something, maybe it doesnt. Guess we'll see soon enough.

    I'm not sure if this qualifies, but i used to get a good laugh out of the takes on Wells "Too blessed to be stressed" quote. Wish i could remember some of them. Also, 1012 was hilarious.

    I kind of have the same feeling. It was right around the time they signed him that i joined this site. Other than Valdy (yes, that is a reference), Torii was one of the best free agent acquisitions this franchise ever made.

    My best guess is they offered Machado and Haper pretty much the same deal. Manny took it. It's likely they were both offered the same deal a month or two ago and were just waiting out for something better that never materialized.

    Well, i think we all had an idea this was probable after that Rosenthal article from a few months ago, still crazy that it's actually happening. I wonder if he'll take a year or two off before managing a new team. It sure is going to be weird not seeing him in the dugout anymore.

    Ha! Thats probably most of us right now. I think it safe to say we were all pretty pumped for this year more so than in recent seasons. Things started off better than we could have hoped for and within a few weeks it was back to the same old shit.
