The difference between Reagan bombing Libya and our current air attacks, is Gaddafi cared about his own skin and behaved himself after Reagan served notice on him, while ISIS couldn't care less if they live or die. In fact, most of them would love to die and get their reward from Allah.

Bring on the bombs. The more the better. They believe in an apocalyptic future when their 12th imam (or whatever their messiah is called) will return and take over the world, . I think the only way you really defeat them is to wipe them all out, and then wipe out the replacements. That could take the several decades, and Iraq and Syria (among other places) might have to be turned into nuclear wastelands to ensure it.

The promise by Trump that he will utterly destroy them is naive at best.

It's not possible to defeat them unless we vaporized several Middle Eastern countries. That will never happen, but even if it did, they would gather their followers elsewhere and come at us again in some form or another. 

This enemy has been attacking the West for 1,400 years. This is an endless struggle. The best we can shoot for is containment.

Well.  Just to be fair.  Trump would be more likely to turn the other countries into nuclear wastelands.  So you can't say it's not possible.
