ISIS delenda est

Recommended Posts

From what I read, Trump has cited the Nationality and Immigration Act of 1952 as giving the president the authority to ban anyone he sees fit. Paul Ryan (that's the Republican Speaker of the House) has said that he'll file suit if he tries. They've already filed suit against Obama for trying to legalize the kids of the illegals who are already here.

Bottom line is that there's tens of thousands of Muslims here on student or work visas and many of them have already purchased a member of Congress who would not let this happen without a fight. When we pissed off the Saudis in the 70's we got gas lines and a nice decade of recession. This ban isn't going to happen in any meaningful way. Trump's, or whomever's, ban would be about as airtight as the draft was in Don's youth. So many exemptions that it wouldn't really make any difference.

I find it strange that ISIS takes credit for the Orlando shooter's actions when it appears that just about every aspect of his behavior (outside of the shooting and wife beating) would have got him decapitated in Raqqa.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. He massacred Americans so he's suddenly a fighter for the caliphate. He gets bonus points for doing it in an especially terrifying way. The reports are he calmly executed hostages in the bathrooms after mowing others down on the dance floor. The killing went on for some time. There were some survivors who played dead while they were in agony, having already been shot. ISIS loves this sort of thing, the more terror the better. He got a pass on his homosexuality I guess. Remember that he pledged allegiance to them in the 911 call.

You mean we can ban immigration and be made to produce our own in one fell swoop? Sign me up.

Well we know that Hillary Clinton is bought and paid for by Middle Eastern regimes who enslave women and persecute gays.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration is inexplicably fast-tracking the admission of Syrian refugees...

In a letter to Democratic Senator Richard Durbin seen by Reuters on Thursday, the White House said it has allocated additional staff and added more processing locations in the Middle East to expedite the screening process without compromising U.S. security.

Free yourself, Jay. Admit that it would be the Republicans that would block any attempt to prevent middle easterners from entering. Admit it and free yourself of the bondage of the two party circle jerk.

(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

On the topic of Trump’s proposed Muslim ban and his statements that he could enact such a policy without Congress, Ryan noted that Republicans were releasing part of their agenda on executive overreach that very day, and, in news that’s sure to please Trump, Ryan suggested that he and the House of Representatives were prepared to sue a Republican president if need be.

“I would sue any president that exceeds his or her powers,” Ryan said.

It’s unclear, however, if Ryan thinks Trump enacting a ban on Muslims entering the country would actually exceed presidential powers. “That’s a legal question that there’s a good debate about,” Ryan said, pointing to the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act.

Fuck suing him. Did Aaron Burr sue? No, he dueled. We should go back to dueling. Two birds, one stone

Inexplicable is right. Why is he so hell bent on streaming thousands of young Muslim men from the battlefield regions of Syria into our country, when ISIS is bragging that their plan is to infiltrate us and strike?

Doesn't make an ounce of sense.

i'm in total agreement with you on this, FS. at a time when we know that a sworn enemy has declared they're going to come after us, it doesn't make any sense to keep importing more people from the same area. there's no way our vetting process of this refugees, whatever it may entail, is going to be accurate or reliable.

heck, half the time these guys have three or four names (that we find out about after the fact).

put things on hold for a while. no harm in doing that.

Sure, we can defeat ISIS in Syria, at some point and given enough firepower.

But what about the hundreds of people in cells throughout Europe who can strike at any time, not to mention the unknown number here in the U.S. already, with more probably coming as Obama streams thousands of young men from the battlefield areas into our country.

Pure suicidal insanity, and nobody is doing anything about it.
