Gas Prices

As much as we all can't stand the oil companies they are private businesses and can do what they want with their ships. What we need are working refineries in Southern California that produce the needed blends of gasoline that the local environmental regulations require. Lowering fuel taxes to a more realistic level wouldn't hurt either.

No, NJ is usually much lower than most other states in the Northeast. Makes no sense because we are also the only state that you can't pump your own gas, so Mohammed's salary has to be built in there too.

Our taxes are low on gas because the tolls are high on the two major highways.

We do have a good amount of refineries by port Newark, so transportation costs are low.

You still have someone pump your gas? I was unaware of that. I thought it was self pump everywhere. Are there other states like that also?

There are no others that I am aware of. They talk about changing the rules every now and then, but it never happens

Massachusetts used to be full service only but now allow for self serve. There's still a lot of areas in the state where you can't find a self serve station.
