The report said the woman -- identified as 21-year-old Katie Lee Pitchford – had become “enraged” during an argument. The alleged victim, who was not identified, reportedly told the officers that Pitchford had struck him “with her fists and scratched the left side of his face.”

An arrest affidavit, cited by the Miami Herald, said the man’s face was bloodied and had visible bruising. The man reportedly told officers that Pitchford had grabbed him “by his b---s and squeezed them until they bled.”

Florida man accused of trying to recruit ISIS to bomb deans from Miami-area colleges

A Florida man faces federal charges after allegedly trying to contact the Islamic State to recruit someone to carry out a terrorist attack on the deans of two Miami-area colleges after he was expelled by one and suspended by another, officials said in a press release Monday.

Salman Rashid, 23, of North Miami Beach, was arrested Friday and charged with soliciting another person to commit a crime of violence, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida. An FBI investigation revealed that Rashid asked an undercover FBI agent posing as a member of ISIS to bomb two unnamed deans at Miami Dade College and Broward College where he experienced “perceived attacks on Muslims,” according to prosecutors.

Florida man accused of stealing Pepsi repeatedly fails to get out of store after cashier locks him inside

A Florida man’s repeated failure to quench his thirst with a stolen bottle of Pepsi has gone viral after investigators released surveillance video showing his persistence.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office posted footage from inside a Citgo gas station showing the man, identified as 49-year-old Gabriel Tillman, grabbing a bottle of Pepsi off a shelf near the door.

Tillman could be seen trying to leave the store without paying for the bottle. An observant cashier noticed the sticky fingers and pushed a button that remotely locked the door, deputies said.

The footage showed the 49-year-old trying to escape with the soda by throwing his body against the door. When his attempts failed, he picked up a fire extinguisher and slams it against the door. However, nothing he tried was able to bust down the locked door.

Florida hunter killed after propane heater explodes in Pennsylvania

A Florida man was killed while hunting in northeastern Pennsylvania over the weekend after his portable propane heater exploded. It marked the state’s third fatal hunting incident in a week, investigators said.

Gregory Scheer, an 81-year-old resident of Chiefland, Fla., was hunting from a stand on the ground in Texas Township on Saturday when the heater's attached propane bottle exploded and ignited two other nearby bottles of the gas, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Investigators said the blast could have resulted from a malfunction or an improper connection that caused the attached propane bottle to explode.

A friend who owns the property heard the blasts and found Scheer dead, according to police. A cause of death is pending an investigation. An autopsy was planned for this week.
