I am torn on this and not because of risk or his salary or the impact his salary has on the luxury tax. Rather, I am torn on it because of the guy who posts here that stole his name. It might be fun to watch him either melt down or simply disappear.

 

I don't feel qualified to comment on that, being one of the unknowing fans playing with beach balls rather than one of the analytical types like the player's namesake who KNOWS that he is coming here.

I have no issue with Tanaka taking his time to sign. I would do the same if I were in his position.

I don't blame him. He's been able to negotiate for less than three weeks, and this has got to be a very tough decision. The money is there no matter where he goes, he is probably weighing his balance between money and where to live. This isn't some MLB guy that has been to every major league city. This is a guy that lives on the other side of the world making a life altering decision. Blame his previous employer and MLB for taking forever to make the posting rules decision.
