okay I'll come out of the closet. I was NrM from the ESPN message board and got constant shit for being a "dodgers fan".

I remember you and those quarrels about it being impossible to like the Dodgers as a die hard angels fan.

We were right though. It has been scientifically proven that it is impossible to root for both the Angels and Dodgers unless you watch baseball because your are attracted to baseball players, under 18, or like teams because of their uniforms and/or colors.

Anyone remember runningair? He was kind of like yk but more vicious.

My favorite runningair moment was after Garret Anderson grounded into a double play with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, someone started a thread about how we should give GA some slack because of his great career or something like that.

Runningair was the first to reply. All he posted was, "You're dumb."

Angels were down one run with the bases loaded and one out.  I was at that game, it was a total buzz kill.

future angels was the worst of the worst. he was on every message board out there and managed to get banned from each one because he was always a tool. he and inside pitch used to go at it, and it was amazing.

when the halos farm team was at lake elsinore, future angels would hang out down there and write articles about the kids and their prospects for moving up the ladder to anaheim. because the players were young and because he had so much access, he got to know them pretty well and saw how they were still such kids. when we would discuss these kids on the board, he was hyper sensitive about any criticism of them and would very angrily lash out at any poster who said anything even remotely critical. it was as if he was defending his very own children, and he had lost all perspective because he had gotten too close to the players. "you don't know how hard they work!" "you don't know how tough it is for them to be away from home for the first time!" and stuff like that, and then he would blast away personally at the poster. he was horrible to talk with about any of the kids because it was way too personal for him.

on one of the boards that booted him, he got extremely personal about something and threatened to sue several people. i don't remember if that was the original aw.com or another board, but he just went too far.

i'm sure he probably sleeps in a trent durrington autographed lake elsinore storm jersey every night.

Just remembered a creepy experience from the OMB.  I started getting e-mails from an anonymous person after posting my e-mail address.

The messages were never signed and the e-mail was AOL so I couldn't see a "From" name, only the e-mail address.  Every one of them said something to the effect of "hey, i got your e-mail address from the Angels board.  Check this out and let me know what you think" ... followed by a link to a profile page on the literotica.com website.  I recognized the username right away as being a chick that posted on the OMB.  The profile featured several erotic stories she wrote.

No, it wasn't Katie (haha) but judging from her profile pic, this woman is probably 30-35 by now and I think her name started with an M.  I've always wondered if somebody was playing a joke on me, or if she wrote the e-mails herself?

Because he thought his shit didn't stink and it ruffled his feathers when people opposed has views.

I couldn't stand his constant crying for money.  Yes, he had expenses but nobody forced him to travel to SLC on a regular basis.

About the time DSLR quality started getting good, DSL and Cable internet speeds were also improving.  To cut costs, I suggested he find somebody in the SLC/Provo area -- maybe a college student -- who could e-mail or FTP high resolution photos and videos for the FutureAngels website.  Why spend $500 travelling to SLC when somebody local would be more than happy to do the same for $100 (or less)?  I couldn't believe how pissed off he got.  He said he didn't have time for "amateurs" to ruin his reputation.  All this from a guy who wasn't a professional photographer or videographer at all, but a computer programmer.  LOL

I was always a lurker on the espn boards. One incident I'll always remember is down the stretch of the 2002 season with the Angels, A's, and Mariners fighting it out the Angels board started to malfunction and wouldn't load. The Mariners board was giving us crap for it. Well the natural thing to do was to just take over their board and use it as our own. As Chuck would say "shit on their couch." We must have had 30 posters move over and completely eliminate any Mariner fans from posting. After an hour, you would think it was the Angels board. Red321 created a new name, blue321. Good times

Surprised yk was mlscout82. Could have sworn both were posting at the same time.

I had well over 1,000 e-mails to-from Nugs.  Even though some people here think I am crazy, I got to know him fairly well.  There were a couple posters here (along with me) who would pester him to the point up eruption.  I know his life story, which I believe and I brokered a deal with him to go away.  One of the conditions was to quit teasing him about Randy Winn.  LOL.  We got to the point where we agreed to meet in person, but it didn't happen.

Some here will remember his fake suicide and his friend Chris.

I haven't heard from him in years and hope he has reached peace with his mother and family.  Steven (his real name) is a smart guy, but had some serious issues after his father committed suicide.

That's the guy that Vic and I liked to irritate...He had way too much personal info about DrAnnieB and it was kinda creepy.  I can't believe that I forgot his name.

About half way down the page..........

"It was copied, it was imitated, and a few times it was even ripped off. But it was, and always will be, the first."

I always thought the "ripped off" line was in reference to that quarrel over that picture.

LOL, I echo one of the commenter's "Good to see you're still as humble as ever Stephen"
