  1. That's really sad and then I saw that Lou died as well. My condolences to their families and to the long time posters here. I haven't posted here in a long time, I hope that everyone else I remember is doing ok. Take care of yourselves.

  3. I haven't posted here in a long, long time. Since it's October, I will leave you guys with the three scariest words in the English language for Republicans: Speaker Nancy Pelosi. BOO!
  4. The team also commits way too many penalties and that's going to burn them soon if it's not fixed.
  5. 3 in a row for the Rams, if the offense improves they could have a winning record this year, the defense and special teams are pretty good.
  6. Boyle Heights has people moving in who can't afford to live in downtown LA but maybe work there and want to be close. Similar to Westlake on the other side of downtown.
  7. US didn't even qualify, couldn't get past Honduras and Colombia. Brazil finally scored in their last group stage game and qualified but Mexico is out. I want to see if Portugal soccer can continue its great year at all levels by at least getting a medal. They play Germany in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
  8. Jesus Castillo is an low A ball pitcher http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=castil005jes
  9. Meyer hasn't pitched since early May, that's a bummer.
  10. Put Meyer in the rotation now and cut Lincecum.
  11. Rosenthal tweets it's a cash neutral deal so the Twins are sending us cash for Nolasco.
  12. Financial difficulty won't be there until after this TV deal is done. I can easily see in a few years that TV money is going to go down across all sports but until that happens, both the owners and players are going to be like Scrooge McDuck swimming in money.
  13. I would rather force them to spend money instead of keeping it in their pockets.
  14. Why? The owners don't need any more money to go in their pockets, they are already getting 49 percent of the increased revenue from the TV deal.
  15. Maybe it's revisionist history but the decisions that Lebron made to leave Cleveland and then come back look great. I think he has solidified himself in the top 5 all time with this performance.
  16. 1.99 gas is at some Arcos and Costcos in Whittier/Norwalk area. According to Gasbuddy, the special blend for local gas has seen a big time price drop which is pulling our gas prices closer to the national average.
  17. Then it's going to be very slow going with our current strategy. The quote about the state system being completely broken is pretty much correct. And without that, I don't know what you do to solve that. Do you think the coalition should withdraw? I mean that's appealing as hell to me too but that would likely mean ISIS gains a lot of ground. It's just confusing as hell and the people we need most to help us are remarkably stupid.

  19. My sister and brother in law along with 4 other family friends were in Paris last night but were 3 miles away from where most of the mayhem went on. If they had known that game was going on, I am sure they most likely would have been there. The men in that group are huge soccer fans and they arrived in Paris about 3 hours too late to see Paris St. Germain play so I am sure they would have put down some cash to get France vs. Germany tickets. That plot at the game is particularly chilling when you think of possible stampedes and multiple suicide bombings as people are fleeing the stadium. They came home today and are fine but obviously that stressed me out yesterday.
  20. I know there is more than one factor here but what I see is elbow injury versus shoulder injuries.
