The problem is when your infamous for getting raped in trades, other teams try to take advantage of that and when Dipoto ask the rockies for even a fair trade, they are going to say no.  It's best to fire Dipoto and start over with a more tough negotiator who doesnt have such an embarassing reputation.

 

Just have Bill Stoneman make those calls.....

In raw numbers.  If you look at OPS+, though, Hamilton's was actually a little above average, while Helton's was well below.

 

That's a good point. Playing in Colorado inflates the numbers.

I'm going to close this thread since it appears talks have ended between the Angels and Rockies. The tip I got was legit, Troy Renck (Rockies beat writer) confirmed the next day.

 

The Rockies probably want to sign or acquire a 1B without giving up starting pitching, so obviously Dipoto passed.
