Breaking: Eppard and Picciolo let go - Scioscia and Dipoto staying

Ebel being moved to bench coach is interesting from the standpoint that he has a lot of minor league managing experience. This tells me, and I am not saying this is the case, but it appears that Ebel is in position to take over as interim manager if this team gets off to another pisspoor start next season.

I really hope this means MS is on a very short leash.

I really hope we never learn how long or short the leash is next season

Yet one of the few quotes from him is that he needed to look in the mirror.....

Of course talk is cheap.

I sure hope Arte has done just that and learned his lesson, but I can't blame anyone for being skeptical about those sort of things at this point. There's a lot of benefit of the doubt that's been understandably lost by members of this organization for a lot of people.

Yet people believe other things around here that have no factual backing, got it.

Look, people can get upset all they want but it wont matter who the manager is if they dont acquire quite a bit of pitching.

I don't think whether he fired Sosh and Dipoto is a tell on whether Arte has looked in the mirror or not.  However, I would argue that if he fired Dipoto it would be a tell that he clearly hadn't.

Only if you buy into the Arte interfering with baseball operations and acquisitions I guess.

I just don't see how this helps the team at all.

When the pitching coach can't make the most of what he's got, and you see a decline in the performance of the arms once they get on this team, its clear Butcher was the one that needed to go.

I can deal with keeping Scoscia one more year, but Butcher being around to go and talk to the pitchers followed by giving up big hits and go-ahead runs is pretty much unbearable.

I don't know whats going on with this team anymore. Management/Ownership seems completely oblivious to reality.
