The Official Los Angeles Kings Thread for 2013-2014

Finally, Quick returns and is his usual self right off the bat.

Now, it's time to start considering a trade of a blueliner and Scrivens to get a much needed additional scorer.  Unfortunately, and as somewhat anticipated, Frattin has been a flop with only SIX pts in 29 games and the WORST +/- on the team at -7.

Red Wings today and then about what? 13 games until the Olympic break.....

Nice to see Quick back and the LA Kings sort of rebounding from that recent losing skid.

nice to turn things around before the Olympic break -- well, always nice to win and play well, however -- some may recall the last Olympic break four years ago, the LA Kings were playing pretty well going into the Olympic break and had some real momentum going...........when they came back from the break, they seemed sluggish, lost the momentum and took some time to regain it.

so, not sure if going into the break with the sort of recent skid the Kings had is better or going in sizzling hot.

hard to say........let's just break even on the next 14 or so before the break...........

Even during the slump the Kings were playing well. Just not getting the results. This team unlike well every other Kings team ever really seems to understand how to find a constant level of play. How they play after the break is a concern as it is for every other team in the league but they seem as prepared as most to come out of it playing well.

I want to congratulate Tom Sestito on the return of 1970s goon hockey tonight. Nicely done, punk! I'm surprised you didn't go Hanson Brothers on us and shoot a punk towards the organist.

True congrats to Jonathan Quick on his first shutout since November 7, as he is rounding back into form nicely.
