That was amazingly enough the first ever Kings' shutout over the Habs, and possibly the biggest margin of victory ever for the team over them.

 

Nothing like having THREE good goalies, of course they have a great defense in front of them. 

Now tied with the Bruins for the best GAA in the NHL (2.0/game)

wow, what a game! six different goal scorers - good to spread it around.

 

jones looks pretty impressive. i think we're in good hands for as long as Quick needs to recover.

 

this defense - wow. they're playing their tails off. for all those years we wanted to have an elite team? well, i think we're pretty much there.

Another great start for Jones, and it's always good to sweep Montreal and Toronto on the road.

23 year-old rookie Jones is 5-0 with a just under 1.00 GAA in the past 5 Kings games.

It's nice having THREE goalies ultimately.

Scrivens leads the NHL in saves% and is second in GAA at 1.52.

That doesn't even include the 2012 SC hero Quick.

Expected to get blasted by Chicago. Playing a 2nd of a back to back in Chicago isn't easy, even if the Hawks played last night too.  Much better to sleep in your own bed on a back to back if you have to play one.

Hawks score three in the first to end a remarkable streak by the Kings of nit allowing a first period in seventeen straight.

Chicago is such a good team.

Chicago's offense is ridiculous, with SIX players on pace for at least close to 25 goals.

Still, the Kings' goaltending will be huge always as Scrivens kept them competitive despite facing 40 shots total.

 

Kings' offense has improved, and the defense is rock solid.  But they could still use one more goal scorer.   Another Carter like trade a month or two from now would not suck.

martin jones with another win, making him the first Kings goalie to start out 6-0-0. His GAA is less than 1. he already has 3 shutouts.

Scorer? With the crap trade values goalies have we'd be lucky to get a team to pay for his airfare out of town.

Brown is involved in too many of these knee-to-knee incidents, and I fear he's got a reputation for them now with the refs. He needs to dial it down.

And yes, a very dominant win over a division rival.

Kings win a tough one. Keep on rolling. I'm sure a look at the standing would just show everyone bunched up still though. :-/

Yep, five WC teams are separated by virtually nothing, when looking at games played and pts accumulated.

Pittsburgh is the ONLY EC team that can hang with ANY of them.

Fortunately the .500, injured, and old Lakers are there.

What to do with Scrivens now?

 

what a turn around -- we've got Quick, Scrivens and now Martin Jones..........a wealth of riches in goal -- remember not that far back that the LA Kings really struggled in goal for a number of years........really we had those great Kelly Hrudey years and then sort of struggled for a number of years after that.........of course some might say it wasn't just in goal but the defense in general then that was weaker and now is stronger making our guys in goal look good (and that's true) but it's no doubt that Quick et. al. have performed well.

 

and it's real nice not having to rush Quick back Quickly.
