Neat thing the Kings did for tonight's game. They brought along the dads of the players on the flight to Vancouver.

This has been a very tough, spirited battle tonight against the nucks. Tied at 1 after two periods.

Hated to lose Bernier but Scrivens shows that he belongs and can step up!!

Good to see Carter back on the ice. Miller said he'd been out with a broken foot! I guess that qualifies these days as a "lower body injury".

Looking forward to seeing Greene back out there soon.

Yeah, once it went to a shootout, it was pretty much a given that Niemi would emerge triumphant against a relatively inexperienced guy like Scrivens. He hung in there better than I expected, though.

this is the best picture i could find of their jerseys for the winter classic against the ducks. they're simple, but i like them. i especially like seeing the crown back on the front.

Hey, nice win for Jones in his first NHL start...........!!!

 

I was concerned going into the shoot out --- Hiller vs. Jones at Anaheim -- advantage THEM -- but Jones keeps his cool through a what? 8/9 round shoot out.

 

None for them..........one game winner for us.

I figured it over when the Kings were down two in OT. To go on with a virgin goalie and win the shootout was surprising and didn't suck. Serious props for that performance on the 2nd of a back to back on the road. Well okay, Staples Center East.

Solid game by the Kings. All those shots on goal - ducks were fortunate to only give up two goals.

Great debut by Jones.

Killing the 5 on 3 PP in OT was clutch.

Jones stopping 26 out of 28 and then all 9 SHO attempts was HUGE!

Scrivens needs a breather from time to time until Quick returns.

Jones with the shutout tonight. Kid sure looks good in his first two games.

Btw, Kings are 8-1-3 since Quick got injured. I think they also lead the league in shutouts and save percentage.
