I'm with mt about the whole dare devil thing. Also while I haven't seen Argo which I know he got praise for Affleck has never wowed me with anything on screen but gets credit for landing Garner.

He was good in Argo, but his characters are usually pretty similar, maybe not in setting, but in a lot of other ways.

He might be alright, he has that personality that may work. I like a bunch of characters he does but don't think he kills it....just does what needs to be done and it works.

I don't watch the movies so doesn't matter, but curious what you dudes think when the movies come out.

Very bad idea. I understand the producers were looking for star power, but I think they fail to understand that for a blockbuster like this you don't necessarily need a star, just someone capable.

 

I think Affleck is a very good director, but for this role, which requires the intensity of Batman, and I presume, the devil-may-care attitude of Bruce Wayne, I think he will struggle. Moreover, his performance of Daredevil, Marvel's answer to Batman, came off too forced and Matt Murdock and Daredevil isn't that much different.

Other choices? I think the casters got the age right in Affleck, but I'd prefer Hugo Weaving, Viggo Mortenson, Clive Owen or Jim Caviezel.
