The Angels General Manager

And ours.

COme on, be fair - Maddon manages one the teams that always performs the best for their payroll, and Black is stuck with the spendthrift Padres.  Only Roenicke has had any sort of decent payroll to work with and even his is pretty limited.

Be fair about what?  To argue that Sosh was only successful because of those guys is pure and unadulterated conjecture.  It's based on nothing more than the fact that most fans of their own team hate their managers.

I never said those guys were failures, just that they haven't proved anything close to the fact that they were the brains behind Sosh.  In fact, to a man, every one of those guys have spoken numerous times about how much they learned from Sosh.

But of course, they are lying and internet fan knows better.

Redsox, Yankees, Dodgers had the money and need and avoided him like the plague.  Rangers made him an offer but clearly they didnt want him back since he didnt even consider it.

Yankees didn't have the money. They are trying to get under the luxury tax.

Dodgers didn't have the need. They had Ethier, Crawford and Kemp. Where was Hamilton going to play?

RedSox just got done dumping long term, big money contracts. So they weren't going to turn around a dole out another one.

I think I have proven my point.

We didn't have the need either.  We could have just resigned Hunter.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Ya, That would have solved all of the problems right there. Sign the 38 year old to 15M plus per year contract.

Again, at the time Detroit signed him, the majority applauded DiPoto for not signing the aging veteran.

Ya nothing is ever Dipoto's fault..

Part of being the GM is evaluating talent, and minimizing mistakes.   that's what we pay scouts for isnt it?

Dipoto should have known Burnett always had a history of nagging injuries, everyone else did....but he signed him anyways.  He should have known Hamilton hit like .150 after the month of may, instead he gave him 125m based on his entire year.

He should have known CJ was overrated, the players even polled it,but he signed him anyways.

He should have known to get a real closer after what happened in 2012, he didnt.........and the list goes on and on.

- Burnett threw 50+ innings each of the last 3 years.

- Hamilton had a .943 OPS in Aug and .873 in Sept/Oct

- CJ has mostly lived up to expectations aside from his 2nd half last year when he apparently played through bone spurs.  He's our #2 guy after Weaver, which is what he was signed to be.

I don't believe Dipoto should be immune to criticism, but at least criticize things that are factually accurate.

Again, maybe their different voices and philosophies helped Scioscia.  Nobody said that they didn't learn a lot from him but maybe their advice was valuable?

Yanks have more money than anyone, dodgers had crawford on the DL, redsox gave an insane contract to victorino instead.

Even so Dipoto coughing up 125m for an OF that nobody wanted further proves my point that dipoto is an idiot.

So we had zero competition and still paid 125 million?

BRILLIANT....
