This is gonna be the trade that hurts in a few years, IMO. 

I do like how it helps the 2023 team though and applaud that they’re not giving up. I believe in this team still.

Cabbage and Padlo my guess. 

17 K in 34 PA and 0 BB? Not a good metric for Cabbage.

Man, they really are going all in for a 10% playoff chance… obviously both are upgrades over Padlo and Cabbage but the farm is gone. As with the Giolito trade: Bottom line is that we must make the playoffs.

Regardless of what happens, it won't be for lack of trying this year. Perry actually did a good job before the season building depth in the lineup. Sadly, injuries to damn near half the 40 man blew up said depth, along with not having much in the minors. It is absolutely critical that they nail the next few drafts or this is going to be quite the slow rebuild if Ohtani leaves.

They figure that if Ohtani walks in the offseason, the team is gonna suck next year, so may as well go full desperation mode for the remainder of this year while they still have him
