I love the guy but if you knew their numbers versus LHP's you would know it makes sense...

Walsh:

.175/.200/.361/.561

Gosselin:

.439/.500/.585/1.085

 But Aroldis Chapman

Gosselin has been big find but Walsh big hits against lefties lately. Chapman and Friday night

Maybe he's figured out the lefties. If so, he's going to be awesome

Walsh did hit .324 against lefties last year - although I will add the caveat that it was only 34 ABs and he had a weak .471 slugging against them. But it's promising and as he is still pretty new to MLB I would still give him time to work them out before platooning him long term. Ohtani struggled against lefties for a while but worked them out eventually, hopefully given time Walsh can do the same. Those big recent hits against lefties are bound to help his confidence (I think I heard the Yankees' announcers say that Chapman had never given up a grand slam before then - hehehehe).

Gosselin has been amazing against lefties this year though, I hope it gives him a chance to carve out a career because he seems like a good guy that tries his best to make the talent he has count.

Maybe. Hopefully.

Walsh is 1-6/.167 versus LHP's since the slam off of Chapman but the 1 was a walk-off 1B on Friday.

So, doesn't that make him 2-7/.285 including the slam off Chapman?  LOL, I actually agree a platoon makes sense, but I couldn't help myself...
