Official 2021 Trade Deadline Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

People here need to calm down. This deadline will likely be similar to EVERY YEAR before it. The Angels have been injured. They are playing .500 baseball. They have guys hopefully coming back soon that will improve the ballclub. They have an owner that does not believe in selling no matter what the circumstances are. Regardless that there are better teams in front of them in the standings that improved with trades, the Angels will most likely once again stand pat or make a minor trade. Those expecting a big buy or sell are going to be disappointed. I have no idea why many here believe Arte is all of a sudden going to change the way he does things. Like some others here have stated, getting back Trout and Rendon are 2 big bats. If the bullpen continues to struggle, the Angels will bring up some minor leaguers and hope they do well. Hopefully Walsh comes back healthy. The Angels will go with the team they have and the players they have in the minors like they pretty much do every year. I follow the deadline to see what the other teams are gonna do. If the Angels do anything, it's just a bonus. I suggest you do the same for your sanity.

if the Angels are moving Iglesias (obviously) they are throwing up the white flag.

Every other expiring contract should be on the table.

Angels need to forget 2021 and make deals that make them competitive for 2022.

Nobody else has the value that Iglesias does....Cobb has some, maybe Haney, maybe Jose Iglesias a little....other than Cobb, the return won't be much....

We have no assurance that Trout or Glass Rendon will be back anytime soon.   This year’s post-season bid is already pretty much zilch.
