My point being you do not have to spend money to have a winning team. Tampa year after year in the race with low payroll. I'm glad Pujols is gone. I hope halos learn from these contracts. Angels still building but do it with your young players. Canning, Sandoval, Suarez, Chris Rod, Detmers and of course Ohtani, build your pitching from within. So this off season do not spend 150 to 200 mill on some pitcher.

Since's Mlb began their crackdown on pitcher's using illegal substance (which I believe started in june), both Bauer and Cole have an ERA over 5 in June. Its still early and Bauer only has thrown 15 innings in june, and cole has only thrown 11 innings, but worth keeping an eye on.

Speaking of poor Angels player assessment, every time I look at Vlad Jr's stats I feel a bit sick. The dude is now hitting .344/.450/.688 with 21 HR, 204 wRC+, and a 4.1 WAR. He's lead the majors in all of those categories except for BA. It seems he has taken the mantle from Juan Soto of likely candidate to be the best hitter of the next decade.

I'd still probably take the other two juniors, Tatis and Acuna, over him if I were building a franchise from scratch, but I like him better than everyone else - maybe including Soto.
