Puig and trout are very similar. Same power trouts faster puig has a better arm it will be interesting to see this guy play a little more. But definitely trout.

Also, the Angels are getting more value for the money out of Trout. Puig is making 3.7 M in his rookie year and Trout is only making 500 K in his second year.

Anyone know if Puig played on the Cuban National team? If so, he will be more polished than expected. He would have already been exposed to major league pitching while playing in the Carribean Leagues during the MLB off season. I Would absolutely take Trout. But Puig may be the real deal.

It's just a shame that we couldn't follow up on signing Morales 9 years ago, by signing either Chapman or Puig.

Both guys have plus power, Trout has more speed, and Trout has the better hit tool + is a year younger. Trout's the easy answer

 

Puig has more swing and miss to his game and is still a question mark regarding his pitch recognition skills

He had 12 walks in 95 plate appearances in the minors with an OBP almost 90 points higher than his BA.  Not much hacking there.
