Good defensive catcher to go with Stassi, who is also a defensive specialist. Won't get any offense from catcher, but when you upgrade at 3B the way the Angels did, am offensive force at catcher isn't a necessity. 

At 1/6 or 1/7, it's an ok investment I think. Don't expect much excitement, just boring old using your body to block pass balls and stealing strikes by great framing. You know, the stuff that actually matters.

Effing hated Mathis. Couldn't throw a rubber out to save his life and at the time, the Angels offense want consistent enough to warrant forgoing Napoli's bat in the lineup. 

I get the feeling that Mathis got better after leaving the Angels.

Beautiful what an integral part to this new found offense. Should help the pitching immensely and the offense and on a 1 year deal at 33 huge steal. Watch out here we come the Angels are coming to get you AL West.

And yes, while he’s primarily a defense oriented catcher, he’s also the best offensive catcher the Angels have had since Ianetta.

He’s not Grandal or Sanchez, he’s also not Lucroy or Stassi. He’s fine offensively, hopefully doesn’t get worse.

If he is the only guy in the lineup that bats 200 than our lineup has vastly improved.
