When this guy hits the ball he hits it hard. He has an average exit velocity of 91%. Unfortunately he has a whiff rate of 37.1%. Twins loved what he did for their pitching staff and I'm hoping he can have even a minuscule positive impact on our guys behind the plate.

Likely rotation Depth: Canning, Pena, Sandoval, Barria
 

More rotation depth in AAA: Peters, Suarez, Beasley, etc.

 

I’m all for depth but unless you do a True 6 Man, or start Canning, Barria, Sandoval and Suarez all in the minors and Pena in the pen?

Competence behind the plate is a good thing. The fact he played just 79 games in 2019 is notable. He's going to have to play in many more games in 2020.

He only played 79 games because the Twins had Mitch Garver played in 93 of them and clubbed 31 home runs.

It is a really nice deal for the Angels seems like.  Was just reading that he got well below what the estimates were.  Sucks for him.  He’ll manage somehow I guess.  Like I said, I’m really happy with how this turned out.
