5 yr deal eh... thru age 35 season
Last year one of his most durable i must admit, 203K in 207 IP, maybe '18 was the anomaly.  Pairing him with Cole would be interesting.
If we use the previously posted projections as a guide, (it wasnt that far off on Wheeler) youre looking at 18ish per so something like 5/90
Id be down for that i think, it fits, leave a little

Bumgarner would be an EXCELLENT third option behind Cole and Ohtani in our rotation.

Well he though?

Declining velocity, lots of mileage on that arm, ERA had been trending in the wrong direction for four consecutive years now, sits at 3.90 despite pitching in the second most pitcher friendly park  in MLB, in the most pitching friendly division in the majors, is on the wrong side of 30.....

Those are some serious red flags. I'm surrounded by Giants fans here in Nor Cal and even they're saying he's not a mid rotation starter anymore.

That ERA is likely going to jump up over 4 next year. Obviously ERA isn't the best measurement, but it's a consistent one.

Most signs point to Bumgarner being a very expensive #4 starter. He does not look like like he's profile so well there at #3.

Yep at the right price he would be a good but not great pick up.  We could certainly use his mentality on the team.  He can still grind out some innings.  If we don’t expect him to be the Cy Young version of himself he would add value to the rotation.

Adding him and Cole along with Bundy Ohtani and Canning. I think that’s an excellent rotation

Bumgarner as your plus +1 isn't a bad thing...as your primary guy....well...you probably need another arm on top of that.

Reality is though...if both Angels and Yankees say open the checkbook for Cole...you can't force him to sign with the Angels. Hell, even if the Angels outbid the Yankees or come close, if he chooses NY for whatever reason...you have to be thinking about what you do then.

Signing Bumgarner will be exactly like the Pujols deal.  Whoever signs him will regret it.  His numbers show decline and there is a ton of mileage on that arm.  I'd rather the Angels sign Teheran (or someone like him) with Cole.

The way I'm seeing Bumgarner at this point is someone that's going to give you an ERA in there low 4's and a lot of innings. Basically across the next three seasons, is call him a better version of Dylan Bundy.

Fine to target, but don't spend 100 million in that. He's not even close to the same guy he was 3 years ago.
