Yup! He's had a pretty solid career for a sidearmer who management at the time thought wasn't long for the league due to arm slot.

Braves sign Will Smith, 3/$39m and a $13m option year. 

All in all, that's a pretty reasonable deal. 

Angels implications? The Astros probably could have been in the hunt for Will Smith and he's no longer an option for him now, and the Braves, who will be heavily engaged in the FA SP class, have a little less money to work with and a little less need for pitching overall.

I love him as our number 2. I won't be thrilled if he's our biggest acquisition.

If the Angels fail to sign Cole or Stras then maybe signing Wheeler, Ryu and trading for a starter(Boyd, Ray etc.) is the way to go. A staff of Wheeler, Ryu, Ohtani, Boyd, Heaney and Canning should be light years better than last year. It would look a lot better if Cole was their number 1 though.
