Half the SP's in the ML's hit every time they pitch. Ohtani's agent at least publicly was considering signing with the Dodgers, let's not pretend like he'll break in half if he hits when he pitches. By that account Bumgarner and Kershaw are screwed since they bat 2-3 times every start.

The Pujols contract is what forced him out. They obviously aren't moving on from him and with the lack of LH bats on the roster, they weren't gonna move Valbuena. Shame too since Cron probably was their best option at 1B

Why take Trout of the lineup on a day that Ohtani pitches? I get that Trout needs a rest day but now your two best hitters are out on the same day
