If we don't have one single guy who can play right field in the entire organization who can put up a WAR better than -0.8 in a month, we might as well blow it up and start over.

It's not that simplistic.  It's the likelihood of Calhoun producing more than the AAA player in question this point forward.  Calhoun has way more upside than anyone and the floor may not be that much of an improvement.

I don't care about upside.

i care about who would be playing better right now.

Calhoun's OPS+ is now 13 points higher than mine.

Go look at his game logs.  Cowart played almost every game for about a month straight in July and early August.

k i just checked the logs and you are right he did start almost every game from July 25 to August 10. But the angels only faced 1 lefty during that time period and Cowart went 3-4 against him.

He got a day off on Aug 11 against Sea (Lefty Marco Gonzales)

He played August 12th (Right handed starting pitcher)

He got another day off Aug 13 against Sea (Lefty Ariel Miranda)

Team day off Aug 14 - Benched again on August 15th against the Nats (Lefty Gio Gonzalez)

And the platoon continued from there for pretty much the rest of the season.

It doesn't hurt to call Blash up and give him some starts, see what he can do. This is the time of year you start looking at your holes, figuring out what needs to be filled or not (resist, tdawg). Kole is obviously a big gaping orifice that needs to be tended to, and there's a big black dude named Jabari that looks like the man for the job.

OK, I didn't resist.

I go the other direction with it AJ.  The team is winning, keep playing Kole.  If he doesn’t turn it around in the next month or so, then you fill that hole with a trade, not with Jabari Blash.  You bring up Blash if you have an injury, not because you think he is an upgrade.  This team has playoff aspirations, you don’t do that with a starting RF of Blash.

We have a lot of baseball left.  We want someone who will play the best through October. The one playing best in May is not necessarily the one who is going to play the best May through October.  That's why you have the balance the likelihood of Calhoun playing to his potential from now until the end bnbof the season with AAA replacement players performance from now until the end of the season.  It's not an easy call for the team.

I dont care about the platoon.  How did he play during that stretched where he played almost every game.

Sure, but why not see what Blash can do right now? Platoon them.

Would someone break down a general Calhoun at bat? I don't see the Angels much. I'm also wondering what management is potentially saying to him. You know he's trying, but this doesn't make any sense. You have to assume he isn't hurt.
